New Barbecue Restaurants Come to Brea and Fullerton

Summer inevitably means one thing for Brea and Fullerton homeowners: It’s barbecue season. But whether that translates to firing up the grill or smoker in your backyard or heading out a local barbecue shack is totally up to you. And the decision to dine out has just been made easier by two great barbecue additions to the Fullerton and Brea restaurant scene.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit

This barbecue chain has been around since 1941 when Travis Dickey opened the first store in Dallas and began offering up his famous smoked ribs, brisket and sausage. And now Brea and Fullerton homeowners can sample a taste of north Texas by heading down to the new Dickey’s location at 2435 Imperial Highway in Brea. Today’s menu includes items like the signature ones mentioned above, but also a spicy cheddar sausage, mac and cheese, and Dickey’s famous jalapeño beans. The tangy Texas sauce at Dickey’s is peppery and delicious, and provides a nice spicy kick to complement their unctuous meats. It’s no wonder lines have been out the door ever since this Brea location opened recently.

JP23 BBQ and Smokehouse

Looking for barbecue that is a bit more upscale and refined but still offers plenty of variations on the types of meats one would usually find at a traditional barbecue joint? JP23 BBQ and Smokehouse at 101 S. Harbor Blvd. in Fullerton is also a new addition to the Brea/Fullerton food scene, and has quite the interesting menu, to boot. Boasting not just traditional barbecue offerings like brisket and “smokehouse baby back ribs,” but also highly praised burgers including the applewood smoked bacon and chipotle aioli Smokehouse Burger, JP23 BBQ and Smokehouse has a wide array of offerings for those looking to have a new and eclectic barbecue experience. And the house nachos slathered in mounds of tender, shredded brisket? Yes, please!

Brea and Fullerton are constantly expanding in terms of rich cultural offerings, and these are just a few examples of why locals love calling Fullerton and Brea home. To hear more about Brea homes for sale, please contact me.
