There are plenty of things for a for sale by owner to prepare for including gathering real estate forms that you’ll use when you find a good buyer for your home. In addition there are many disclosures a seller should and others that must be delivered to the buyer during the sales process. It is best to research and read up on what is the proper way to write the sales contract and what is and isn’t included in the sale. The most important part are the terms of the sale. Writing it the right or wrong way may mean loosing valuable time or money.
I would recommend at least talking to a Realtor that can point you in the right direction. Today there are many forms that both the seller and buyer are required to sign. In addition disclosing issues of material fact that you the seller know about should be written and given to the buyer so they can do their due diligence of their purchase. Also don’t forget disclosures like paint, mold, environmental and neighborhood disclosures as well as others.
Aside from finding the buyer and working your way through the sale, you need to prepare your home for showings, market your home and don’t forget you need to pack and move!
