Many Brea home owners love cheering on their beloved Anaheim Ducks hockey team, with the skating and slap-shooting sensations nested just a short nine-mile drive from the heart of Brea. And recent news of a major stadium expansion at the Honda Center in Anaheim means that the gameday experience for Ducks fans is only going to get more fun and thrilling as the Ducks embark on their 2013-2014 season this fall.
More specifically, the franchise’s owners Henry and Susan Samueli paid $20 million to construct the new Grand Terrace, which includes an added 15,000 square feet to Honda Center in the form of entertainment facilities, bars, restaurant space, massive HD TVs and much, much more.
“We hope fans come ready to celebrate as we take the Honda Center fan experience to the next level,” said Honda Center CEO Tim Ryan.
One of the main attractions in the new stadium includes a luxurious 220-seat restaurant from master celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck. A little fine dining while you watch the Ducks rough it out on the hard ice—why not? Also in the dining additions are an upper-level bar with outdoor seating, massive fire pits and several other luxury amenities available only to season-ticket holders.
Oh, and upon entering the newly revamped Honda Center, fans will be wowed by two 15-foot-by-25-foot HD screens that will play highlights and feature commentary throughout the gameday experience. Just imagine the thrill of watching Ducks stars like Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry charging at you at twice the size of real life!
As for when eager Fullerton and Brea home owners can come check out the new stadium digs, the Ducks’ home opener kicks off on October 10th as they take on the New York Rangers in what is bound to be a stellar coming-out party for the whole area and a great start to the new hockey season.
