Get Your Artistic Fix in Brea This Summer

Brea has long identified itself as an art-friendly city. From sculptures to art galleries, this city can certainly give you your artistic fix. Whether you’ve been a lifelong resident or you’re in town on business, take a culturally enriching trip to one, two or all of these places in Brea that support the arts community.

  • One of the best places to see art in Brea happens to be … everywhere! The Art in Public Places Program was started 1975 as a way to promote the arts community by placing sculptures and installation art pieces all over the city for everyone to appreciate. Since this program was started, 150 pieces have been created to add to the city’s aesthetic. The sculptures are commissioned by local businesses, government entities and Brea homeowners to add interest to their property and add to the residents’ visual enjoyment of the city, according to the City of Brea.
  • For a more localized artistic experience, check out the City of Brea Art Gallery. This gallery features a plethora of art for you and your family to enjoy. Exhibitions coming to the gallery in the near future include pieces crafted in the mediums of colored pencil and watercolor, many of which are juried. The gallery also features local artists and has a gift shop so that you can walk away from this cultural hub with something to remember it by.
  • For an artistic experience with a side dish of patriotism, pay a visit to the Brea War Memorial. This memorial was erected by Susan Narduli, an architect who specializes in sculptural pieces, to pay tribute to the men and women of Brea who have lost their lives while serving our country. The monument includes flags, war medals and a dedication wall inscribed with the names of fallen soldiers.
